The triumph put a halt on a three-game slide and pushed the Hawkeyes to 10-19 overall and 4-12 in Big Ten action. On the road is where Iowa has really been abused, winning just once in nine games as the visitor. The Hawkeyes lead the head-to-head series 77-74 with Wisconsin after the teams split a pair of meetings a season ago. Iowa connected on 45.8 percent of their attempts from the field and 26 free throws, as they downed Indiana over the weekend. The Hawkeyes also did a nice job on defense, forcing Indiana into 20 costly turnovers. Matt Gatens went off for 25 points in the win, while Aaron Fuller posted 17 points and eight rebounds. For the season, Gatens is averaging a far less, but still team-high 12.7 ppg, to go along with 4.6 rpg and 3.3 apg. Fuller chips in with 9.3 ppg and he is Iowa's leading rebounder at 6.1 rpg. Wisconsin shot an efficient 54.7 percent from the field, including 8-of-11 from long range, as they breezed past Indiana last week. The Badgers also forced 18 turnovers, generating 21 points from those Indiana giveaways. Trevon Hughes led five double-figure scorers with 17 points. Keaton Nankivil tacked on 14 points, while Jon Leuer and Jordan Taylor both had 13 points. Jason Bohannon round out the starting five with 11 points. For the season, Hughes paces Wisconsin with 15.5 ppg and he is a 39.4 percent shooter from beyond the arc. Leuer, who missed several weeks with an injury, adds 14.4 ppg and 5.8 rpg to the rotation. Bohannon, a 41.4 percent three-point shooters, nets 12.4 ppg, while Taylor logs 10.1 ppg and a team-high 3.6 apg.
