Dolphins bolster linebacking corps with Dansby

Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Dolphins have reportedly reached an
agreement with linebacker Karlos Dansby on a five-year contract, taking
arguably the top-rated free agent linebacker off the market.
According to the Sun Sentinel, the deal is reportedly worth $43 million, with
$22 million guaranteed.
Dansby, who has spent his entire six-year career with the Arizona Cardinals,
is most remembered for scoring the game-winning touchdown in overtime during
the team's win over the Green Bay Packers in what was the highest-scoring
playoff game in NFL history.
In addition to that feat, the 28-year-old has also been a standout defender,
posting 109 tackles with a sack and an interception last season for Arizona.
A second-round pick out of Auburn in 2004, Dansby has started at least 10
games in each of his six seasons with the Cardinals. He recorded a career-high
119 tackles in 2008 and has posted as many as eight sacks in 2006.
In 90 career regular season games, Dansby has 553 combined tackles, 25 1/2
sacks, 10 interceptions and two touchdowns.
The move comes shortly after the Dolphins terminated the contracts of
linebackers Akin Ayodele and Joey Porter. Porter's release was made possible
by the uncapped season that began Friday.
