The right-hander was sent to the minor leagues on July 7 following his start the day before against Baltimore, when he went 6 2/3 innings and was charged with three runs on 10 hits. The 28-year-old Venezuelan made one appearance with the Mud Hens, on Friday when he threw three scoreless innings, giving up three hits, walking one and fanning a pair. He is 3-2 with a 4.45 ERA in 10 games, nine starts, with the Tigers this season, but is most noted for having a perfect game taken away from him June 2 against Cleveland thanks to a blown call by first-base umpire Jim Joyce. To make room for Galarraga's return, the Tigers optioned pitcher Andrew Oliver to Toledo. The left-hander is 0-4 with a 7.36 ERA in five starts with Detroit this year.
