James, Cavaliers down Pistons; Stuckey taken to hospital

Cleveland, OH (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - LeBron James dropped 40 points, grabbed 13
rebounds and handed out six assists to lead Cleveland in a 99-92 win against
Detroit at Quicken Loans Arena.
Antawn Jamison added 17 points and Anderson Varejao scored 16 and pulled down
10 rebounds in Cleveland's sixth straight win.
Detroit built up a 20-point lead in the first half and led through three
quarters before a freakish medical emergency involving Pistons guard Rodney
Stuckey cast a cloud over the end of the game.
Stuckey suffered what seemed to be a seizure during a timeout with 2:30 left
in the third quarter and was rushed from the arena on a stretcher to a waiting
ambulance. He was said to be stable after being taken to nearby Cleveland
Clinic, but was given an EKG and an oxygen tank during a nearly 12-minute
delay while Stuckey lay in front of Detroit's bench.
Tayshaun Prince had 23 points and Richard Hamilton scored 20 for the Pistons,
who have dropped six straight. Stuckey had 10 assists and eight points before
leaving. Charlie Villanueva chipped in a dozen points.
Detroit got out to a 31-22 lead after 12 minutes and surged ahead by 20 with
an 11-0 burst to start the second. Villanueva hit a jump shot on the opening
possession and knocked down a three to close things out for a 42-22 margin two
minutes in.
Varejao put in back-to-back layups on the next two Cavalier possessions and
Cleveland used a brief 6-0 stretch to get within 15 near the midway point.
Cleveland was only able to cut it to nine, 55-46, at halftime but took
advantage of a poor shooting stretch by the Pistons in the latter stages of
the third to make it a two-point game heading to the fourth.
Detroit made just three field goals over the final 7:35, and James scored a
dozen over the same period with a pair of three-pointers inside the last
minute cutting the deficit to 70-68.
The Stuckey incident seemed to muddle whatever focus Detroit carried through
the majority of the game, and the hosts quickly moved in front behind seven
straight points from Jamison to start the fourth.
A pair of free throws by Delonte West a short time later had the Cavs' lead at
81-73. Cleveland maintained just enough distance from there with James
knocking down a patented turnaround jumper and Mo Williams' three-ball giving
the Cavs a 91-82 lead with under five minutes left.
Detroit was still hanging around down five with a little under three minutes
to go, but James scored the next six Cavalier points and sealed it with a
jumper just before the shot clock with 27.1 ticks remaining for a 98-90 game.
