Jeff Clement added a pinch-hit, two-run homer in the seventh and Pedro Alvarez hit a solo blast in the ninth for the Pirates, but the Reds scored nine times in between to pull away. Francisco doubled leading off the second and scored the tying run on Janish's two-out base hit. The visitors went ahead for good in the fourth on Ramon Hernandez's bases- loaded sacrifice fly and tacked on another run in the fifth, when Chris Heisey scored on Francisco's groundout to first. Sean Gallagher gave up a leadoff single to Heisey in the seventh and was pulled in favor of Wilfredo Ledezma, who yielded consecutive run-scoring doubles to Joey Votto and Gomes before McCutchen misplayed a ball hit by Laynce Nix, resulting in an RBI triple. Steven Jackson came in from the bullpen and walked Ramon Hernandez prior to Janish sending one into the first row of seats down the left-field line for a commanding 9-1 advantage. Game Notes Cueto has won his last five decisions overall and improved to 9-2 lifetime in 12 career starts versus the Pirates...Votto, starting for the first time in three games due to a wrist injury, went 2-for-4...The Pirates will next host a four-game series against Colorado, while the Central-leading Reds get a day off before heading to Chicago for a three-game set against the Cubs.
