Toronto, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Saskatchewan quarterback Darian Durant and wide
receiver Andy Fantuz, Winnipeg linebacker Joe Lobendahn and Hamilton kick
returner Marcus Thigpen have been selected as the CFL's top performers for the
first week of the regular season.
Durant was named the offensive player of the week after completing 30-of-44
passes for 478 yards with five touchdowns in a 54-51 double overtime victory
over Montreal. He also rushed for 52 yards and a TD on just five carries.
Fantuz was named the top Canadian player after catching eight passes from
Durant for 77 yards, including a touchdown in the final minute of regulation.
Lobendahn took the defensive player of the week accolades after finishing with
eight tackles and two sacks in a 49-29 decision over Hamilton despite
Thigpen's performance.
Thigpen earned the special teams honors for becoming the first player with two
return touchdowns in a game since Keith Stokes did so in 2002 with Montreal.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch
Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.
Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.
"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
