Salmons, Bucks shoot for another road win in Atlanta

Basketball Betting Lines

02/28/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - John Salmons has been quite the tonic for a Milwaukee Bucks team hoping to continue an amazing run on the road when they visit Dixie to take on the Atlanta Hawks tonight.

The Bucks improved to 6-0 since acquiring Salmons from Chicago on Feb. 18 after the swingman recorded 18 points and Jerry Stackhouse added four three- pointers on the way to 16, as Milwaukee destroyed the Miami Heat, 94-71, in South Beach on Saturday.

Carlos Delfino chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Bucks, who have also won six straight on the road. Andrew Bogut checked in with 10 rebounds and eight points.

"Our defense was very good. We did a nice job on the glass. We shared the ball like we normally do," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "(Salmons and Stackhouse) have blended in with the unselfish play."

Milwaukee last won six consecutive games from December 16-27, 2006 but the road streak is even more impressive. A win tonight over the Hawks would give the Bucks their first seven-game road winning streak in a quarter century. Milwaukee last won seven consecutive away from Brew City during the 1984-1985 season.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are coming off a really tough overtime loss to Dallas on Friday. Jason Kidd's triple-double fueled a furious Maverick comeback in the fourth quarter to force the extra frame in that one, as Dallas downed Atlanta, 111-103, at Philips Arena for a season-high sixth straight win.

Joe Johnson totaled 27 points and 10 assists for Atlanta, which fell to 22-7 at home and saw a two-game win streak broken. Josh Smith had 18 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a losing cause, while Jamal Crawford also scored 18.

This is the first meeting between the two clubs this season. Atlanta took three of four from the Bucks last season and has taken five straight from them in Dixie.

MySportsbook.com week 1 NFL lines

Now that the 2008 NFL schedule is finally out, it is only matter-of-course for lines on “Week 1” to follow.  Of course MySportsbook.com is the first to churn out odds for the NFL’s inaugural week for the upcoming season.   Expect a lot of fireworks the first Thursday night of the season as the defending champion Indianapolis Colts face off against the surprise of the 2008 season, the New Orleans Saints.  These teams were ranked #1 and #3 in the NFL respectively a season ago so a high scoring affair could be in order.  As of now, the Colts will be giving 6 points to the Saints; keep in mind the Saints were one of the better road teams last season going 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS.  The first Monday night of the season will again provide a “double feature”. Coming off a disappointing season, the Cincinnati Bengals will look to get back to playoffs and improve their public image as they take on the AFC North favorite Baltimore Ravens.  The second game features a couple of teams that haven’t had too much success recently but each could make some noise if the NFC is as weak as it was last year as the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
